The editing collective at Nursing Clio is seeking an Acquisitions Editor!

Nursing Clio is a volunteer-run, open access, collaborative blog project that ties historical scholarship to current political, social, and cultural issues related to gender and medicine. We publish essays on bodies, sexuality, health care, medical technology, reproductive rights, and more.

The role of the Acquisitions Editor would be to identify and contact potential authors, track relevant news and current events for potential essay topics, develop ideas and draft calls for short-term projects such as themed series, manage and mentor our writers-in-residence, and provide team leadership alongside the Executive Editor and Managing Editor. We also welcome new ideas about how to develop the role and can meet via Zoom to discuss further.
